I am what I am
I can ‘t get this song out of my head at the moment and I know exactly why.
We’re finally realising it’s okay to be who we are. In fact the world needs us to be who we truly are.
Yes it finally feels like there are many of us thinking and feeling this way – or at least starting and continuing the journey to get there.
Come on you know you want to. Let’s just ramp that volume up and dance around the living room shouting it out at the top of our lungs.
These words are just gold. Looky here:-
“I am what I am
I am my own special creation
So come take a look
Give me the hook or the ovation
It’s my world that I want to have a little pride in
My world, and it’s not a place I have to hide in
Life’s not worth a damn
‘Till you can say
“Hey World, I am what I am.”
Okay yes I know it’s cheesy and cliched but it’s only bloody cliched because it’s true.
It’s time to celebrate ourselves – warts and all.
It’s time to take responsibility and realise we are the creators of our own universe. We can manifest, co-create, connect, own.
We can also sabotage, reject, self-medicate, avoid and allow ourselves to fall deeper and deeper into the abyss.
Can you relate to some of these – constantly beating yourself up for being too honest, for “failing” in relationships and not sticking them out. For not being happy with the status quo; for being impulsive and not thinking about your security and future.
Do you hide your beliefs for fear of being too weird and too spiritual? I see the eye rolls when I start talking hippy. But guess what? I’m not the one drinking wine every night before I go to bed just so I can face work the next day and living in a loveless relationship.
Now I’m not judging here – well yes okay I am a little. Hey it’s fine if you want to think of life in 3D. Enjoy. Go for gold. I’m on a different journey.
Hey world – here I am.
No I don’t watch the news every night. I meditate and listen to spirit and ask my guides for help and listen to my inner child and get guidance from my higher self. But I also love to watch a good rom com. And drink a cold beer on a hot day.
No I don’t own a flash car. But I know that trees and nature are here to help and support us and that the environment and plants and the streams are worth our care and attention.
I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses
I deal my own deck
Sometimes the aces, sometimes the deuces
Yes, we deal our own deck, and sometimes we make dumb moves and yes sometimes they felt like deuces – but didn’t you learn some of your best lessons from that “mistake”?
This is about self love
About seeing the obstacles as opportunities for healing.
About embracing our shadow selves.
For many of us it’s also about overcoming many lifetimes of crappy lives where we’ve had to hide because we’ve been persecuted and ridiculed.
There’s one part of the song where it says there’s only one life and there’s no return and no deposit. Well I don’t believe that to be true. I believe we have lived many lives.
But this particular one. And starting from 2020. Well there hasn’t been another opportunity in many, many centuries where we are being so supported to live in our truth.
In fact the planet needs us to be who we truly are so we can help, heal and raise everybody up.
I am what I am
I am an intuitive healer
I did not choose this path. I could have carried on being a Marketing Manager earning heaps of dosh and living a very comfortable life.
But if I had my soul would have sighed a deep and sorrowful sigh and thought “ah, I guess we’ll try again in another lifetime”.
I am here to help others through my own life journey. That means I’ve gone through difficult shit so I can totally relate to you and your difficult shit. (Mine is mostly around relationships.)
I didn’t want to be so out there with how ‘weird’ I am. It’s a heck of a lot safer not to talk about this stuff. And I fought being this spiritual being for many many years.
But it’s who I am. And I know that if I share the tools and healing that I have learned over the last 20 years, it will help others.
And that is why I am here.
Because I shine when I help others to shine.
I write this, as always, in the hope that whoever most needs to read this will see it.
